Welcome to the Den Chiropractic

Where Kelowna families stay healthy, naturally!

Our journey began at Life University during orientation weekend when we first crossed paths. (Dr. Kent’s pick-up line was asking Dr. Emily for a ride to Walmart 😁) Throughout our time in chiropractic school, our dream of The Den Chiropractic began to take shape. We envisioned a haven, a place where naturally-minded families could seek chiropractic care and embrace a wholesome, natural lifestyle. The Den Chiropractic was born out of a shared passion to create a safe and welcoming space where families could nurture their health and well-being.

Dr. Kent Rempel

Family + Pediatric + Sports Chiropractor, Owner

Dr. Kent is from Saskatoon, SK, and is an alumnus of The University of Saskatchewan where he played three years of football. His interest in chiropractic care began after a premature end to his football career due to an injury. After experiencing the positive impact of chiropractic care during his own recovery, he decided to pursue his Doctor of Chiropractic at Life University, where he did advanced Sports Chiropractic training and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

While initially narrowing his focus to sports chiropractic, Dr. Kent had the realization that every person’s body needs to be in top functioning shape just like an athlete’s does. Whether you’re competing in a sporting event or bending over to pick up your children 1000 times a day, ensuring that your body is adaptable to life’s stresses is equally important. This began his interest in caring for entire families of all ages with specific wellness care plans. He utilizes full spine technique, Thompson technique, activator adjusting, extremity adjusting, and Active Release Technique to create an individualized approach for each patient.

Dr. Kent continues to be an avid athlete himself, competing in Ironman races and other endurance events. You can often find him outdoors, downhill skiing in the winter, and hiking, camping, and enjoying beers on the patio in the summer.

Dr. Emily Burton

Family + Pediatric Chiropractor, Owner

Dr. Emily was born in Dayton, Ohio, and graduated with Honors from Otterbein University with a degree in Biochemistry and a Nutrition minor. She found that the philosophy of chiropractic aligned with her personal belief that health comes from the inside out. This began her journey to obtaining a Doctorate in Chiropractic at Life University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and met her husband Dr. Kent.

Dr. Emily’s passion is serving families through chiropractic care, preconception care, prenatal care, pediatric care, and whole family wellness. Dr. Emily continued her education by becoming Webster certified, and is currently in the process of obtaining her CACCP through the International Pediatric Chiropractic Association. In the office, she focuses on low-impact adjusting styles. She uses various techniques including MC2, activator, Full Spine, and Thompson. With her experience of being a collegiate soccer player as well as teaching yoga for 12 years, Dr. Emily has an appreciation for how the structure of the body affects the function of the body.

Dr. Emily’s favorite part of being a chiropractor is being a partner in each new and growing family’s wellness care – from pre-conception to pregnancy, to adjusting all the little ones. She feels so grateful to be a part of a community here in the Okanagan that comes together around holistic health. Her favorite pastime is walking through the farmer’s market buying local produce, or curling up with a coffee and a good book.

Kirby Velo

Care Advocate

Kirby has lots of experience working in customer service and loves helping people feel welcome and cared for. Her journey with The Den began not behind the front desk, but as a long-time patient of Dr. Emily’s—an experience that sparked her desire to become part of a practice that prioritizes holistic wellness and community. Now, she’s excited to be on the other side and is dedicated to making every patient feel seen, heard, and cared for from the moment they walk through the door.

When she’s not at work, you can find Kirby reading a good book, trying out healthy recipes in the kitchen, or hiking with her dog. She also loves spending time with her family and friends, especially outdoors in the beautiful Okanagan.

Victoria Wolgemuth

Patient Advocate + Bachelors of Kinesiology

Victoria is originally from Vancouver, BC, and moved to Kelowna over four years ago to pursue her Bachelor of Kinesiology at UBC Okanagan. Growing up with a love for soccer and living an active lifestyle, she developed a strong appreciation for the body’s ability to heal through movement—especially after recovering from her own sports injuries. This personal journey led her to discover a deep interest in holistic health and wellness, eventually bringing her to The Den as a technical chiropractic assistant and Patient Advocate.

Victoria has years of experience working closely with children, and brings a calm, patient, and playful energy that helps little ones feel safe and cared for in a clinical setting. She is passionate about making each visit a positive and empowering experience for both children and their parents.

Now proud to call Kelowna home, Victoria enjoys spending her free time hiking the Okanagan trails, relaxing by the water, or getting lost in a good book. She is grateful to be part of a team that values natural healing and is excited to help patients of all ages reach their health goals through chiropractic care.
